Glen A. Morrow, age 49, of South Shore, Kentucky, and formerly of Ironton and Marion, Ohio, died Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2010, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, following an unexpected three month illness.
On July 22, 1961, Glen was born in Marion, Ohio, the son of the late Ruth (Moore) Trowbridge and Melvin Morrow. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1979.
After working for nearly a year at Whirlpool in Marion, Glen moved down to Ironton, Ohio, where he began following his passion for working on cars. For many years, he worked as an auto body mechanic with Malone’s Auto Body. Then nine years ago, he moved to South Shore, Kentucky, where he worked for Sperry’s Auto Body shop. When he wasn’t working in the shop, he could be found at home using his extensive tool set he had collected working on his “pride and joy,” his 1977 Chevy Truck.
A man of faith, Glen was a member of the St. Paul Church of Christ in South Shore, Kentucky.
“A good hearted family man,” Glen loved to spend time with his family. And he always looked forward to pizza night with them.
Thinking about the needs of everyone else first, Glen would be the first to “give the shirt off his back” for his family or a friend in need.
Glen will be missed by his beloved son, Christopher Morrow of Oregon; two brothers and a sister: John (Betty Hildreth) Morrow of Marion, Marilyn (Jeff Munyan) Bailey of Ironton, and Chuck (Karen) Morrow of South Shore, Kentucky; six nieces and nephews: Angie Burgett, Joey (Amy) Bailey, Ashley Bailey, T.J. Redoutey, Jessica and Jordan Morrow; three half-brothers: Larry Morrow, Denzer Morrow, and Raymond Morrow, all three of Marion; a half sister, Jeannie Morrow of Marion; and many dear friends.
Including his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his step-father, Darrel Trowbridge.
Services honoring Glen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010, at the Caledonia Cemetery, 6531 Harding Hwy E. (SR 309), Caledonia, Ohio.
