Lee Winston McGary Jr. age 66 passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at his residence in Marion.
He was born March 28, 1944 in Cliffton, AL., to the late Lee Winston McGary Sr. and Evelyn M. (Creagh) Coats, he mother survives in Marion.
Lee was retired from GTE/Verizon after 40 years, he was a member of New Beginning COGIC in Marion, he will be rembered as a very giving man that would do anything for anyone.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn M. Coats of Marion, two sons, Toby Wilson of Marion, Rylan Stevens of Marion, five daughters, Yvonne (Daril) Cummings of Atlanta, GA., Amanda Wilson of Marion, Cierra of NC., Elizabeth Porter of Ellenwood, GA., Christina Stansberry of Marion, step-children, Travis Wilson of Marion, Angel Wilson of Marion, Amy Wilson of Marion, ten grandchildren, three brothers, Willie (Dedra) McGary of Marion, Fred McGary of Grand Rapids, MI., Melvin McGary of San Bernardino, CA., one sister, Kathie Richardson of Marion, numerous nieces and nephews, and life long special friends, Susan Wilson and Barb Young.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Winston McGary Sr., a son, Anothy Lee McGary, and a daughter, Anita Brady.
Funeral services for Lee will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010 11 AM at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Harvey Hester Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 6 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
