Rudy R. Friece, age 74 of South Vienna formerly of Marengo and Kilbourne went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 4, 2010 surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 6, 1935 to the late Paul Friece and Doris (Moore) Dunaway. He had resided in Kilbourne for 29 years, moving onto Marengo in 1997 and had resided in Ocala, Florida since 2006. A lifelong truck driver he worked with R.M.D. Trucking, Signal Delivery, and ABF Freight Systems.
Rudy attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in London and was also a member of the Eagles in Silver Springs, FL and the Teamsters Union Local No. 413. An outdoorsman, he loved camping, boating, and was an avid fisherman. Always hardworking, he was honest and dependable. Likable and a friend to all, he possessed numerous personable traits. A fan of bluegrass music, he will be remembered for his love and loyalty to his family.
Survived by Son: Kenneth (Debbie) Friece of South Vienna, Daughter: Sonja Burgess of Delaware, 7 Grandchildren: Kenny (Amy), Chad (Ali), Ben (Brittany) Friece, Alissa Friece, Jenna Friece, Brandon (Laura) Carpenter, Adam (Tonya) Burgess, 5 Great-grandchildren: Megan, Braden, Eme, Mila, Lexi, Half-brothers: Ronald (Bea) Houck of Marengo, William (Sharon) Houck of AZ, Half-sisters: Paula (Dick) Kleinhenz of Columbus, Judy (John) Smith of Delaware, special friend and companion: Rose Garrabrant and her family: Linda (Dave), Gerri, Marla (Evan).
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years and who classified him as “a good man”: Emily S. (Hubbard) on February 20, 2006, and sister: Mary Lou Siders.
Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Thursday 12:00 noon with Pastor J R Smith officiating, interment will follow in Green Mound Cemetery in Kilbourne.
