Sharada Ramanna, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her home in Marion.
Born in India, she lived a rich life of helping people and raising her family. She knew of no stranger and always brought out the best in people. She is remembered by all who came in touch with her for her love, compassion, caring and her spirit of volunteering wherever her skills were needed.
One of her highlights after migrating to U.S.A. was becoming a U.S. Citizen, giving her the right to vote in elections.
Her daily prayer has been "Father in Heaven hear my prayer – keep me in thy loving care, be my guide in all I do – Bless all those who love me too."
She is survived by her two daughters, Vidya Iyengar and Sheela Pinto (Roland Pinto); her grandchildren Jane & Ajoy Kumar, Divya Kumar, Kavita Iyengar, and Kalpana Iyengar; and her extended family and friends who lost a loving mother, grandmother, Aunty, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband B.K. Ramanna.
Funeral and visiting services will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.
