Dorothy L Severns age 78 of Marion went to be with her husband and the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. She was a resident at Kingston Memory Care Unit.
Dorothy was born May 30, 1932 in Marion, Ohio to the late Hiram and Effie (Hoffman) Huffman.
On October 7, 1965 she married Donald E. Severns. Dorthy was preceded in death by her loving husband, together they shared a strong family bond always putting family first. They had a love for traveling and enjoyed many trips and cruises.
Dorothy retired from Quaker Oats after 23 years when they closed here in Marion. A women of faith Dorothy was a member of the First Church Of The Nazarene.
She is survived by a daughter, Rita L. (Dwayne) Stephens of Marion, two sons Dan L. (Fran) Cox of Mt. Gilead, Rick A. (Lisa) Cox of Marion, three step-sons, Gregory A. (Barbara) Severns of Marion, Douglas E. (Mary) Severns of CA., David J.(Jennifer) Severns of Marion, a step-daughter, Diana M. (Tom) Severns of Prospect, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, two sisters, Sue Shockey of Marion, Virginia Siler of Marion.
In addition to her husband Dorothy was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Logan Wolbert, 4 brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Steve deWeber officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 9 to 10 AM.
Dorothy's family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to everyone at Kingston and Heartland Hospice for the special care and compassion they provided Dorothy, and a very special thank you to her sister Ginny.
