Dorothy Margaret Mayer, age 84 of Delaware passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Bennington Glen in Marengo.
She was born on November 18, 1925 in Marion County to the late Frank and Mary (Miley) Wilt.
Before retiring, she worked as a supervisor with ODOT for 20 years.
A longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 32 year member of Delaware Eagles, she enjoyed taking pictures and crocheting in her younger years. With a strong German ethnic background, she was a women set in her ways.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph D. Mayer in 1965, they were married Jan. 26, 1946, sons: Joseph J. and Robert E., daughter: Rosemary, brothers: Robert and Harold Wilt, and sister Katherine Wilt.
She is survived by sister: Freda Stevens of Cardington and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church in Delaware and burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Delaware.
