Evelyn Kay Blakeman, 52, of Marion passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 21, 2010.
Kay was born in Marion November 4, 1958 to the late George and Mollie (Bowen) Young.
On April 5, 1986 in Marion she was married to Mitchell Blakeman who survives in Marion.
Kay was satisfied to stay at home and raise her two girls, and later on in life to stay home and spoil her grandchildren and her dog Brutis. Kay loved the simple things in life, family, flowers and friends. Kay will always be sadly missed in death and fondly remembered in life.
In addition to her husband Kay is survived by two daughters, Cheri (Larry) Janick-Harrod of Marion, and Amanda (Terry Shockley) Blakeman of Marion; three grandchildren, MaKayla and Braxton Harrod, and Noah Shockley; one brother, William Young of Marion; two sisters, Jeannie Parr of Marion, and Kay’s twin sister, Shirley Friley of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Young; and two sisters, Alice and Wanda Young.
Calling hours will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 30 at the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Pastor Ryan Strother will officiate the service.
