Grata M. Thacker age 89 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Friday November 5, 2010 at the Primrose of Marion.
She was born December 8, 1920 in Sycamore, Ohio to the late Malcolm and Beatrice (Teal) Essex.
On February 16, 1951 in Richmond, Ind., she married Arthur A. Thacker and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1995 in Columbus, Ohio.
Grata was a homemaker, but worked at the Marion Depot during W.W.II time and then worked for Fulfilment Corp. through the 1950's. She was a member of the Meeker United Methodist Church where at one time she was very active.
Surviving Grata is a daughter and seven grandchildren; Lynn (John) Thacker Mullins of Marion, Ohio; Jay (Cindy) Wood of Marion, Ohio, Jamie (Jennifer) Wood of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Jeremy (Jen) Wood of Columbus, Ohio, Brad (Amy) Wood of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Nicole (Gregg) Becnel of Charleston, W. Va., Brice M. Willis of Columbus, Ohio and Breck M. Willis of Athens, Ohio. Also surviving are seventeen great- grandchildren.
Grata was also preceded in death by two sons; James and Randy Wood.
The Funeral Service will be Wednesday November 10, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday November 9, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Jay, Jamie, Jeremy, Brad, Brice, Breck and Gregg.
