Hazel M. Grate age 92 of Marion, Ohio went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 13, 2010 at her residence.
She was born May 27, 1918 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Alexander and Phylene (George) McFarland.
On November 8, 1940 in Meigs County, Ohio she married Robert C. Grate, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2001.
Hazel was a member of The Dayspring Wesleyan Ghurch. She loved spending time with family and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Keever M. (Marsha) Grate of Marion, OH., Marion E. (Christine) Grate of Lakesisde Marblehead, OH., four daughters, Roberta M. Grate of Marion, OH., Brenda C. Grate of Marion, OH., Margo K. (Ronald Jr.) Osborne of Greencamp, OH., Marla R. (Matthew) Chambers of Beavercreek, Oh., 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, three brothers, Clarence McFarland of Columbus, OH., Harvey McFarland of Danville, OH., Paul McFarland of Columbus, OH., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was peceded in death by 5 brothers, Gerald McFarland, Walter McFarland, Turley McFarland, Cecil McFarland, Earl McFarland, and one sister, Goldie Price.
Visitation for Hazel will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 17, 2010 10 AM at The Dayspring Wesleyan Church, 2431 Marion Mt.Gilead Rd. with Pastor David Holdren officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
