John W. Stapleton, age 50, of Marion passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Born May 31, 1960 in Marion to the late Oscar E. Stapleton Jr and Joan D. (Graybill) Stapleton who survives.
John worked as an orderly at Partners of Marion Nursing Home and previously was employed at East Lawn Manor. Family was first in Johns life, he enjoyed attending auctions, active in his church as an usher, and a member of the church choir. John enjoyed spending time with his grandson.
On September 11, 1982 John married Diana Lynn (Stewart) Stapleton and she survives along with one son Adam S. Stapleton, one daughter Stacy M. (William) Etgen, both of Marion, three brothers Allen E. Stapleton, of Marion, Thomas J. Stapleton, of Florida, James M. Stapleton, of Marion, one sister, Theresa J. (Chris) Hogan. of Marion, and one grandson Aaron Etgen.
Preceding John in death are his father and one grandson Nathan Etgen who passed away in 2006.
Family will recieve friends from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Monday, November 8, 2010 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Mayes Community Temple C.O.G.I.C. 801 Bennett Street with Elder Shawn L. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
