William H. Southward age 86 of Marion, Ohio passed awat Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1924 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Harley R. and Lena W. (Bash) Southward.
On November 6, 1950 he married Della M. (Norman) Southward, she survives in Marion.
William was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII in the South Pacific. He was employed at the former Huber Co., Marion Power Shovel and retired after 40 years at HPM.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Della Southward, two sons, William L. Southward of Marion, James N. Southward of Marion, a step granddaughter, Mariah, three sisters, Avanelle Williams of Marion, Mildred Prater of Marion, Marilyn (John) Prater of IN., numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Harold and Jack Southward, and four sisters, Ruth Armstrong, Eloise Southward, Dorothy Saunders and Goldie Robinson.
Visitation for William will be Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 12 – 3 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with a masonic service at 3 PM. Burial will take place at a later date in W. VA.
