Gene Lowe, age 68, of Edison died unexpectedly Christmas day at his home.
He was born on October 4, 1942 in Tazewell County, Virginia the son of the late Floyd N. and Margaret E. (Asbury) Lowe.
Gene was married to Louise (Osborn) Lowe and served in the United States Army as an airplane mechanic during the Vietnam War. He also worked as the President of React and for the Budweiser Company in Columbus for many years until his retirement.
He will be missed by his wife Louise; his son Carl (Anglea) Lowe of Cardington; a sister Hazel (Ira) Hess of Bellville; step-children Barb (Tom) Stevens of Marengo, Jeff Jordan of Cardington, and Frank Bellows of Marengo; sister-in-law Judy Lowe; nine grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Evelyn, Ruth Davidson, and Emily J. Lowe; and his brother Ernest Lowe.
Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 4-7 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead. Pastor Okie Evans will conduct services there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Burial with full military honors, conducted by the AmVets Post #87 and VFW Post #8054, will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
