John Eugene Douglas, age 41, of Marion, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011.
On May 6, 1969, John was born in Kenton, Ohio, the son of the Paul and Barbara (Broughton) Douglas.
John married Teresa Douglas on June 10, 1993. He absolutely adored his children and grandchildren.
An avid NASCAR fan, John enjoyed collecting anything regarding Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed cooking and cleaning.
Most everyone knew his as “Pops” or “Uncle John,” and he loved to throw a good party. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Including his parents and wife, John will be dearly missed by his daughter, Jessica; a son, Gary (Tara Temple) Douglas, and their children: Sierra and Isaac Douglas, all of Marion; two stepsons; brothers, Jake Douglas of Florida and Ed Douglas of Marion; three sisters: Patty (James) Blevins, Tami Picks, and Paula Ann Douglas, all of Marion; uncles Tommy (Janet) Broughton, Donald, Floyd, and Everett Broughton, Joe, Larry and Jerry Douglas, all of Marion; aunts: Jeanie Vincent of Richwood, Dorothy Roush, and Diane Gibaton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Luau Broughton, and Nora and Gilbert Douglas.
The Douglas family will greet friends from Noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Rather than flowers, his family asks that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
