Maude (Crace) Cantrell, 89, Marion, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Heartland of Marion.
She was born on June 4, 1921 in Salyersville, KY to the late James and Grace Crace.
Maude's life work was taking care of everyone, always making sure everyone was fed and had what they needed. She loved nothing more than cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She had worked at PIC Industries and was a member of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Burt and Beech Crace; 2 sisters, Minnie Rudd and Ann Taylor; daughter, Judy Shappard; daughter-in-law, Peggy Cantrell; grandson, Chip Cantrell and her companion of 22 years, Alva Abrams. She is survived by 2 brothers, John Crace of Cardington, and James Crace of Savannah, Georgia; 4 sons, Bill Cantrell of Marion, Rick (Nanette) Cantrell of Worthington, Tom Cantrell of Marion and John (Alicia) Cantrell of Marion; daughter, Penny (Allen) Rinbolt of Marion; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 with Pastor Ryan Chivington officiating. Burial will follow after the service in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
