Miriam Schorr, 84, previously of Marion

Miriam Schorr, age 84, of Miamisburg, and previously of Marion, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Rittenhouse Senior Living in Middletown, Ohio.

She was born on May 26, 1926, in Mount Victory, Ohio the daughter of the late Edward and Salina L. (Olen) Cottrell.

She was a graduate of Marion Harding High school and Marion Business College.

On March 17, 1946, she married Arthur Hartman Schorr in Columbus.  Together they lovingly raised 3 children and were married for 63 years before his passing on December 10, 2009.

Miriam and Arthur were both long time members of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine.  They enjoyed driving the church bus on Sunday mornings, picking up the elderly for church.

She will be missed by her two sons: William (Cheryl) Schorr of Morrow, and Michael Schorr of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a daughter: Patricia (Joseph) French of Carlisle, Ohio; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister Helen Cory and infant twins at birth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion with Pastor Kelly Melvin officiating.  Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.  Friends may call from noon until the time of the service.
