James Arthur Busch, 78, of Marion

James Arthur Busch, age 78, of Marion left his journey to Heaven Thursday morning to be with the Lord. 

Born in Columbus, Ohio on January 22, 1933 to Arthur and Marion (Albright) Busch, he married the former Betti Ann Schmid on April 30, 1956 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Jim spent 4 years in the Air Force ROTC while in college and later served for three years in the Army Signal Corps. He worked for the European Edition of the Stars & Stripes before becoming a self-employed photographer.

Jim was a well educated man having received a Master’s Degree from the Professional Photographers of America and he was proud of having lived a full and rewarding life.

He was a member of the Vineyard Church, Marion Lodge #70 F & AM, a 32nd Degree Mason, National Photographer’s Association, Past President of the Columbus Photographers Association and Ohio Photographers Association and a former member of Kiwanis. He loved to build and fly model airplanes and started an Explorer Post for those young men interested in that hobby and Jim also loved to sing.

He is survived by his wife; Betti Ann Busch at home, his daughter; Heidi A. Busch of Westerville and 2 grandchildren; Kirsten (Darren) Butler and Craig Allen Hatfield. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, his body has been cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been handled for his family by the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home.
