Jerry Dale Billups, 70, of Marion was killed Sunday, January 23, 2011 after being struck by a train here in Marion.
Jerry was born February 14, 1940 in Ramsey, West Virginia to the late Esmond Billups and Elizabeth Hess.
Jerry was a United States Army Veteran, and was a member of American Legion Post 584. He retired from Tecumseh.
Jerry is survived by daughter, Katharina T. Marshall of Marion; stepson, Evan Walker of Marion; brothers, Danny, Larry, Scott, Elmer, and Lowell; sisters, Ruth Stover, Joann Novak, and Barbara Hinkle; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Derrell; and sister, Alice Lovett.
Jerry has been taken back to his home in West Virginia and laid to rest in Harrah Cemetery.
The Billups family would like to thank Billy and Stephanie Crawford and everyone else that helped with Jerry’s Funeral. They would also like to mention their gratitude to Jerry’s brother and nephew Danny and Jeremy Billups who made it possible to take Jerry back to West Virginia.
