Leola Grace Crumb, age 78, of Mount Gilead, died Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family.
On May 2, 1932, Grace was born in Gallia Ohio, the daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred (Pelphery) Snyder.
For many years, Grace was employed at the Smith Clinic as a cardiac technician and then worked as a nurse’s aide at the Morrow County Hospital.
Grace has shared the last 33 years with her loving husband, Orrin W. Crumb, whom she married on September 7, 1977.
Grace loved to crochet, making many blankets and stuffed animals for those she loved. She was very skilled playing her keyboard and spent many hours playing Free Cell on her computer. She enjoyed going on walks and soaking in the beauty of God’s Country. Above all, Grace’s greatest dedication was to her family, whom she loved dearly.
Grace will be missed by her husband, Orrin, of Mount Gilead; her daughters: Wanda (Jim) Loper of Caledonia, Joyce Glass of Mount Gilead; stepdaughters: Drena (Everett) Russell of Marion, Brenda (Steve) Ruth of Mount Gilead, Roseann Koon of Mount Gilead; a son-in-law, Steve French of Caledonia; 25 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Leslie (Joyce) Snyder of Marion and a sister, Gladys Pelphery of Marion.
In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Lee French; an infant daughter, Carol Jean Shifflet; a grandchild, a brother, Raymond Snyder; and a sister, Laura Fortney.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Crumb home, 4511 Twp. Rd. 77, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses and may be made in care of Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
