Maxine K. Walters passed away at her residence Thursday morning February 10, 2011 at the age of 86.
She was born in Long Bottom, Ohio on August 2, 1924 to the late Raymond and Florence (McPhee) Moore.
She married Gerald D. “IKE” Walters September 21, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada; Gerald passed away December 4, 1998 in Marion.
Maxine worked as a waitress and was retired from the former L & K Restaurants. She was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church. Maxine had a strong faith that reflected onto her family and friends. Maxine's love for life was also shown through her dancing throughout her entire life. To know Maxine was to love her, known by all and adored by all.
She is survived by her son, Gary (JuDine) Kirby of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Raymond Moore of Tennessee, and Bob (Dorothy) Moore of Florida; sister, Meldine Morris of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janice K. and Patricia Ann Kirby.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Pastor Doug Ford will officiate the service. Friends and loved ones may visit with the family Sunday, February 13 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
