Paul Leroy Smith, age 86, went to be with the Lord early Friday morning, February 11, 2011, at his residence in Kingston of Marion.
It was the day of his 66th wedding anniversary with his lovely wife, Louise, who preceded him in death in August, 2010.
Paul was born in Marion on June 29, 1924, and graduated in 1942 from the Waldo School. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Fairfield. Paul and Louise owned and operated the Prospect Dairy Bar for 12 years. He enjoyed woodworking and landscaping. Paul was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
Paul is survived by his two sons: Gary (Marsha) Smith and Steven (Paula) Smith; five grandchildren: Jay (Jackie) Smith, Jenifer (Jason) Reinheart, Yolonda (Mike) Ulery, Heather (Shane) Pertuset, Stephnie (Brocton) Shuler; 12 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Ruth Lyons and Dorothy Berry.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Everett.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 4535 Smeltzer Road, Marion, Ohio 43302 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Carol Rahmseph officiating. Burial will follow in Waldo Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call on the family from 1:30 until the time of the service.
