Russell E. Rivers age 74 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at his residence.
He was born October 9, 1936 in Meigs Co., Ohio to the late Clayton and Auttie (Sanders) Rivers.
On July 9, 1955 he married Genny G. (Saunders) Rivers, she preceded him in death on October 26, 2004.
Russell was employed at Qauker Oats for twenty years, Marion Industrial Center as a part-time guard, and retired after twenty years in self-employed constuction.
He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Rivers of Marion, Tammy Sue Thieshen of Marion, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Clayton (Anne) Rivers Jr. of Larue, four sisters, Ann Williamson of Claridon, Eulah Baker of Marion, Peggy Moore of Marion, Marilyn Tillman of Richwood, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Rivers, three sisters, Ruby Rivers, Floreretta Hilldreth, Josephine White and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011 2:30 PM at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens with Pastor William Houck officiating. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
