Koneta I. Hopkins age 90 of Marion, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Marion Pointe Nursing Home.
She was born July 10, 1920 in Marion, Ohio to the Edward and Clara (Markley) Armbruster.
On August 16, 1941 she married Lawrence Dale Hopkins, he preceded her in death on January 26, 2001.
Koneta was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, for seventeen years she worked at the former Kreasge's Department Store in Marion, and she retired after eight years working in the cafeteria at Marion Harding High School.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger (George) Vanderpool of Enon, OH., four grandchildren, Josh Vanderpool of Enon, OH., Andre Vanderpool of Enon, OH., Kevin Ferguson of Marion, OH., Amy Holcomb of Larue, OH., four great grandsons, two brothers, James Armbruster of Lancaster, OH., Danny Armbruster of Columbus, OH., three sisters, Mary Obenour of MN., Maxine Williams of Toledo, OH., and Margie Robertson of Mornenci, MI., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Armbruster and Ralph Armbruster, three sisters, Catherine White, Daisey Morrison and Elsie Longaker.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Caledonia Cemetery with Chaplain Mardessa Baker officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
