Mary Louise Scott, age 83, of Marion, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Community Healthcare Center in Marion.
On May 31, 1928, Mary was born in Marion, the daughter of Owen Alvin and Sadie Sara (Williamson) Steinman. On August 18, 1946 Mary was united in marriage to Harold Lyman Scott in Harpster, Ohio.
Throughout Mary’s life she worked in food service as a manager and trainer. She was a member of the Fairpark Community Baptist Church. Those who knew Mary knew that she loved to collect all kinds of hats and she has collected many throughout the years. She also loved reading as well and crocheting.
Those left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children: Sandra (Paul) Jenkins of Marion, William “Bill” (Mary) Scott of Marion, John (Lisa) Scott of Marion and Terry (Jane) Scott of Lakeview; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and one sister June Brady of Marion.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Lyman Scott; her parents Owen and Sadie (Williamson) Steinman; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Mary’s family will greet friends from 4PM to 7PM on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion. Funeral services honoring her life will be Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:30AM. Rev. David Rush and Rev. Kenneth Durtsche will be officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
