Brenda S. Wallace-Anak, 52, of Marion

Brenda S. Wallace-Anak, 52, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved brother Kermit "Bam" Massey Jr. early Thursday morning October 20, 2011.

She was born October 29, 1958.

A Harding High School graduate, Brenda was employed for many years at Marion General Hospital as well as the American Red Cross. She was a loving wife, devoted daughter, beloved mother, supportive sister and faithful friend who never met a stranger.

She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. From helping clean their homes, to listening to their problems to sitting at their hospital bedsides all night, her family and friends could count on her to come at a moments notice. In the last few years Brenda had been ill, but her generosity never wavered; she always put others ahead of herself.

Left to cherish her memory husband, Fred "Kwasi" Anak; son, Christopher (Brandi) Wallace and his father James Wallace; parents Kermit and Nellie "Kay" Massey; sisters Debbie (Mike) Wagner, Sandy (Dixie) Hinze and Jamie (Troy) Childress; sister-in-law, Angie Massey; step-children, Richard, Gideon, Paakwesi, Unice and Feustina Anakwah all of Ghana, Africa; grandchildren, Bailey, Bexley, Garner, Brooklyn, Berry and Blossom; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Brenda sacrificed a lot for her son; he was her pride and joy. She is most often remembered from being at all of Chris' numerous sporting events and her trademark whistle. In recent years that pride extended as she spent time with and had a chance to watch her six grandchildren play sports; that brought her tremendous happiness.

The family will receive friends Tuesday Oct. 25 from 5-8 pm at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday Oct. 26, 1 pm at Dayspring Wesleyan Church, 2431 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd, Marion. Internment will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
