Clarence C. Brunton age 82 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday October 16, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born February 25, 1929 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Dale and Mabel (Wastier) Brunton.
On July 3, 1954 in Greenup, Ky., he married Marilyn Wickline and she survives.
Clarence was retired from the former General Telephone Co. where he began as a cable slicer and then as an instructor from 1954 until retiring in 1987.
Clarence was very active with Marion Moose Lodge #889. He became a member in 1976; became a legion member of the moose in 1990; received his fellowship and 25 year club in 1994; was part of the ritual staff; was man of the year in 2004; past governor in 1996; and did ritual staff pizza and friday night drawings. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict.
Besides his wife of 57 years, Clarence is survived by a daughter; Theresa A. (Richard) Shumaker of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; two grandchildren; Danielle (Eric) Pagnard, and Tanielle (Scott) Gelbaugh, and two great-grandchildren; Alex Gelbaugh and Madilyn Pagnard. He was preceded also in death by a great-granddaughter, Ava Pagnard and a sister, Wylodine Humphrey.
Funeral Services for Clarence will be Friday October 21, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dwight Hord. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday October 20, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. There will be a Moose Lodge Memorial Service at 8 P.M.
