Robert Eugene Holliday, 89 ,of Marion

Robert Eugene Holliday, age 89 ,of Marion, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Kingston Residence of Marion.

He was born November 21, 1921 in Marion, Ohio to the late J. Frank and Margaret A. (Fetter) Holliday.

On December 20, 1941 he married his high school sweetheart- June Lenore (Morehart).She preceded him in death on December 5, 2002. Then when  Bob was in cardiac rehab , he met Arlue J. “Archie” Mitchell,  and they were married May 31, 2004.

Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. He received the Good Conduct Medal, America Theater Service Ribbon, EAME Theater Service Medal with one Bronze Star and Victory Medal. He was a former member of The Marion Lions Club, Fite Memorial Baptist, and Trinity Baptist Church where he participated in John’s Holy Tearers.

Robert was the owner of Holliday Insurance Agency . He was an independant agent who represented many different companies throughtout his career.

He is survived by his wife, Arlue “Archie” Holliday of Marion, two daughters, Joan L. (Gary) Warner of Marion, Laura L. (Scott McCreary) Mahle and her mother, Marlene Holliday of Marion,  two step daughters, Vicki (Ben Gordon) Mitchell of Concord, CA., Barb (Al) Ryan of Marion, a step son, Todd (Terry) Mitchell of Waldo, four grandchildren, Jason (Julie) Warner and their children, Josh and Ethan of  Marion, Lane (Aimee) Warner and their son, Hudson of Marion, Jacob Mahle of Columbus and Hannah Mahle of Marion, five step grandchildren, Kimberly (Jeff) Price of Marion, James (Julie) Ryan and their sons, Conner and Drayson of Marion, Ashley Mitchell of Marysville, Ryan (Leah) Mitchell of Waldo and Ally Mitchell of Marysville. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 30, 2011 @ 4 PM at Mt. Vernon Ave. Church of Christ with Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Calling hours for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service from 3 – 4 PM. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.
