Cecil Faye Kurtz age 103 of Larue, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Marion Manor Nursing Home.
She was born December 4, 1907 in Larue, Ohio to the late John C. and Alice J. (Mills) Whitman.
On January 29, 1935 in Covington, KY., she married Chester Kurtz he preceded her in death in May 1995.
Cecil was a 1925 graduate of Larue High School, a member of Larue United Methodist Church, Mary Lenox Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Mary-Martha Circle, Seeds & Weeds Garden Club, Larue Senior Citizens, Weekend Campers, Past Member, Pythian Sisters and Larue Business Women Association. She was employed by several years as a telephone operator in Larue and a cashier at Haberman's Grocery Store.
She is survived by two daughters, Lucille (Kenneth) Norton of Marion, OH., Phyllis (Robert) Lozo of Delaware, OH., a son, Chester (Beth) Kurtz of Bellefountaine, OH., 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Funeral Services for Cecil will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 @ 10:30 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Fugate officiating. Burial will follow at Larue Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2 – 4 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
