Edmund Joseph Walsh of Worthington, OH. and formerly of Marion, OH. entered Eternal Life in Christ on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Manor Care in Westerville.
Born in Early, Iowa, on July 2, 1926, he passed away after a lengthy struggle with respiratory difficulty and heart failure.
His childhood years were spent on a farm in Iowa until he left to serve in the Army Air Force in 1944.
After working in a variety of fields and for several major corporations, from the 1960's through the 80's, Mr. Walsh was one of the first successful management consultants for the farm and power equipment industry in the United States. Over the years he published hundreds of articles in professional journals, and was a much sough after speaker for industry conventions.
Mr. Walsh was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores (1986), his sons Joseph (1948) and Thomas (1991) and his grandson Edmund Joseph Walsh II (1990). He is survived by his wife, Jayne, of Worthington, OH, his children David of Fishersville, VA, Suzanne Kopf of Westerville, OH, Steven of Edison, OH, Kevin, of Galveston, TX, Keith of Centerville, OH, Kirk of Kennesaw, OH, Timothy of Las Vegas, NV, and Michelle Morman of Springfield, OH. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
The wake and rosary for Mr. Walsh, who was a lifelong dedicated Catholic, will be held at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., in Worthington from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrated in the Tridentine extraordinary rite will take place at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 584 W. Broad St., Columbus, on Saturday, November 19, 2011, with burial to follow in Glendale-Union Cemetery, Cardington, Ohio.
