Irene M. Baumgardner, age 96 formerly of Scott Township, passed away early Monday morning November 7th, 2011.
She was born in Scott Township on April 11th, 1915 as the daughter of the late William H. & Mary (Longacre) Knowles.
She was married to Frank Baumgardner. He preceded her in death in June of 1944.
Irene was a 1933 graduate of Martel High School. Over the years she worked as a midwife and a Homecare provider . She also worked in the optometric office of Dr. Burton in Marion.
She was a faithful member of the Liberty United Methodist church in Kirkpatrick where she was financial secretary for many years.
Irene is survived by her son ad daughter-in-law Richard & Carol Baumgardner of Caledonia, and her two daughters, JoAnn Parker of Marion and Mary B. Snyder of Bucyrus. She will also be fondly missed by her sister Grace Snyder of Caledonia. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Hazel Cluff and her grandsons Mark Baumgardner and Shay Highland .
Funeral Services for Irene will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday November 11th, 2011 in the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Pastor John Grimm officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Caledonia on Friday from 1:00 until time of service.
