Linda Sue Hubbard, age 69 of Cardington and formerly of Sunbury was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday afternoon, November 8, 2011, at home while surrounded by her family.
Born on June 18, 1942 in Lebanon, Virginia, she was the second child of Robert Chafin and Mae (Chafin) Brooks. An area resident since 1960, the year she married her beloved husband of 51 years: Larry M. Hubbard.
Retiring in 1996, she had worked for 20 years with Industrial Fabricators as a programmer and machine operator. Christ the King Community Church in Fredericktown was much more than her church, she considered it her home.
The smell and taste of her lasagna, biscuits and gravy, chicken dumplings will never be forgotten, but her grandchildren will certainly miss her Oreo cookie dessert. Family reunions always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and crafts of sewing and quilting. Patience as a Saint, she was a most caring person who loved unconditionally. Always forgiving and generous, she treasured time spent with family. Linda was happiest being a devoted wife, dedicated mother and “mama” and “going to church”.
In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by daughters: Tammy Lynn (Jack) Cuckler of Ruskin, FL, Sandra Denise Brown of Cardington, adopted daughter Connie Grace of Delaware, grandchildren Kristopher Foit, Adam Foit, Ashlee Brown, Tara Grace, great-grandchildren MacKenzie, Kameron, brothers Tommy Lee (Marzetta) Chafin of Cardington, Bobby Joe (Laura) Chafin of Prospect, sisters Betty Jean (Vadie) Deel and Patsy Ann Deel both of Delaware.
