Roy Daniel French age 65, Caledonia, passed away on Sunday Morning November 20th, 2011 in the Dayton Veterans Medical Facility.
Roy was born July 27th, 1946 in Ironton, Ohio the son of the late Charles & Garnett (Abrams) French.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He had recently retired from the sanitation department of Wyandot Popcorn. He was a member of the Caledonia America Legion. He enjoyed outdoor sports and loved to hunt and fish.
On February 14th, 2000 he married Shirley Speakman and she survives him at home.
He is also survived by his sons, Doug (Serena) French of Marion and Derek (Nikki) French of LaRue. Three Step sons; Brian (Cristi) Long , Kelly & Jerry Long of Marion. One step great grand daughter Jamie Long. He leaves behind his sister Louise Thompson of Bellevue and his “special brothers and Sister” Jim Thompson of Kentucky, Bob Thompson of Castalia and Kristy Messler of Bellevue.
Funeral Services for Roy will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday November 23rd at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 9.
