Sue E. Miller, age 62, of Iberia, died early Saturday morning, November 12, 2011, at the Woodside Village Care Center following a five year battle with a brain tumor.
On July 8, 1949, Sue was born in Marion, the daughter of the late Donald and Loretta (Parker) James. She graduated from Northmor High School in the Class of 1967.
A hard worker, Sue started working as a computer operator at Tappan Industries in Ontario for several years until they closed. Then, Sue and her family owned and operated the MFG and Associates Data Entry Company for 14 years, entering data for numerous national companies.
For Sue, the third time was the charm, marrying the love of her life, Searl Miller, on May 1, 1978. Together they shared over 31 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2009.
Finally doing something for herself in 1999, Sue and Searl moved to Las Vegas, where they would stay for 9 years. While there, she loved working at Dotty’s as a server, and she also worked in billing and coding for the Emergency Room Physicians. They also moved to Texas for two years before she returned home.
A caregiver, Sue “lived her life for others” and gladly took care of everyone. “Her family was her life”, and “she made them feel like they were everything to her”.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons: John (Julie Ann Hill) King of Mount Gilead, and Chanse King of Galion; three grandchildren: Heather Duncan of Rocky Mountain, Virginia, Jessica King of Galion, and Dylan Dunlap of Detroit, Michigan; two step-children: Mark Miller of Centerburg and Cindy Thompson of Mount Vernon; and a sister, Donna Jean James of Iberia.
Including her husband and parents, Sue was preceded in death by her grandson, David Micheal King; and her sister, Barbara Ann Chambers.
Services honoring Sue’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Iberia Presbyterian Church, 8607 County Road 30, Iberia.
