Don B. Owens age 83 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Friday December 16, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
He was born October 11, 1928 in Marion to the late Pearl "Perk" and Edith (Cox) Owens.
On January 3, 1953 in Marion, he married Evelyn Jeanne Price.
Don was retired as a Supervisor in Warehouse Distribution at Whirlpool Corp. in 1988. After retiring, Don also worked at Whetstone Golf Course. He attended Fairpark Baptist Church and was a Korean War Veteran.
Don is survived by a daughter and a son; Margo Denise (Jerry Lee) Phipps of Prospect, Ohio and Kenneth Lynn (Seanene) Owens of Prior Lake, Minn. and Tarpon Springs, Fla. Also six grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive; Berry Lee (Katie) Phipps, Lindsay Rene Phipps, Jocelyn Marie (Joel) Franklin, Stephany Cheri Owens, Dalton Ambrose Owens, Quinton Alan Owens and Keaton Mack Franklin. Surviving also is a daughter-in-law, Amy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by a son; Alan J. Owens, three brothers; Dick, Bob and Kenny and a daughter-in-law, Donna.
There will be a Graveside Service for Don on Wednesday December 21, 2011 in the new section of Marion Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday December 20, 2011 from 6 to 8 P.M.
