Patricia J. “Pat” Garlinghouse, age 74 of Richwood, died Thursday evening, December 1, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 4, 1937 in Essex to the late Velden and Hazel (Jenkins) Allinder.
On February 15, 1974 she married Donald L. Garlinghouse, and he died January 19, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Eugene and Christopher Lynn Beckley, and a brother.
She was retired from Memorial Hospital of Union County after 30 years of working in surgery scheduling and other departments. After retirement, she worked another 10 years at London Avenue Physicians in Marysville. A 1955 graduate of Richwood High School, she was the Homecoming Queen. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marysville. Pat loved her grandchildren and family, spending as much time with them as possible. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and was considered by all who knew her to be a “good person”.
She is survived by two sons, Curt (Jackie) Beckley, Richwood; Tim (Pam) Garlinghouse, Ostrander; two daughters, Terri (Clairen) Oldham, LaRue; Tammi Fannan, Mt. Sterling; a brother, Everett Allinder, Vero Beach, Florida; two sisters, Nancy Pacha, Delaware; Eva (Gene) Klaiber, Richwood; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM.
