Genneth Sue (Eastep) Seitz, age 67, of Cardington, died Friday evening, December 30, 2011 at the Morrow County Hospital.
On March 13, 1944, Sue was born in Morrow County, the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Marie C. (Hodge) Eastep. She graduated from Cardington – Lincoln High School.
Sue met the love of her life, Charles W. Seitz Jr., as a young girl. They grew up together and on March 20, 1960, Sue and Charles were united in marriage at the Edison United Methodist Church. Together they shared over 51 years of marriage and lovingly raised two sons, Samuel and Timothy.
A woman of faith, Sue was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cardington. Over the years she was very active in Bible study, Bible school and different women’s groups through the church.
For many years, Sue worked at the Green Light Stop in Cardington in the deli and at the front counter.
Sue had a great love for the outdoors, especially admiring flowers. She always enjoyed the company of her Beagles, Shila and Rose. Sue loved working with children and helped the Cardington Boy Scouts for many years. She also liked fishing, sewing, crafts, and was a magnificent cook.
Sue will always be remembered for the loving, giving and patient way she had about herself. It was those characteristics that enabled her family to take in several foster children over the years. She always opened her home and her heart to anyone in need.
Sue will be dearly missed by her husband, Charles, of Cardington; her two sons, Samuel Aaron Seitz of Cardington, Timothy James Seitz of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren: Simone Rae Seitz and Sidney Nicole Seitz, both of Maryland, Alexis Sue Seitz-Adkins of Cardington; three brothers: Samuel Benjamin (Ruth) Eastep of Cardington, Hollis (Pam) Eastep and Bruce (Sondra) Eastep, both of Mount Gilead; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Terrance Lee Eastep; and four sisters: Barbara Seitz, Wynifred Eastep, Brenda Davis, and Dixie Lee Inglis.
The Seitz family will greet friends from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 336 W. Main St., Cardington, OH, 43315. A memorial service honoring her life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Dennis officiating.
