Mrs. Judy Leatrice Gilbert of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, January 6, 2011 at Community Health Care Center. She was 69 years old.
She was born on October 14, 1942 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Ky. She was the youngest child of the late Paris and Sophia (McCloud) Kimbler.
Judy was a 1961 graduate of Oil Springs High School. She later moved to Marion, Ohio where she was employed by Holiday Inn. She was also a member of the Silver Street Adult School Patrol.
She married Harold Eugene Gilbert on April 3, 1976 in Clintwood, VA.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gilbert, and one brother, Ray Kimbler of Carey, Ohio.
She is survived by three step-children, Harold E. Gilbert Jr. of California, Edith Louise Gilbert of California, and Carol Ann Feldman of Mt. Gilead, Ohio. Other survivors include two brothers, Bill Kimbler of Hardy, Arkansas, and Roy Kimbler of Paintsville, Kentucky and two sister, Joyce Baldwin of Paintsville, Kentucky, and Esther Wiess of Nashville, Tennessee.
Judy was a loving and kind person who gave money to each of her nieces and nephews until they reached the age of 18. She was always willing to help any person in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
We cannot thank enough the three people who were with her constantly during this last journey, Jimmy Young, Michael Gilbert and Sarah Chandler. Some Debts can never be repaid in full. The best we can do is pay it forward.
Our thanks also extend to the doctors and nurses who attended her during this period at the Community Health Care Center.
The Funeral Service for Judy will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012 @ 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Brian Baldwin speaking. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home.
