Mary Teresa Scranton age 83 of Marion passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Sterling House of Marion.
Mary was born in Marion December 30, 1928 to the late Clyde Paul and Selora Lucille (Fox) Scranton.
She retired as a teacher with Elgin High School after 33 years mostly teaching Latin and French.
Mary is survived by two sisters Claudine Robertson of Galion, Frances Lessig of Marion, five nieces and six nephews.
She was an active and very involved member of St Mary Church, member of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Marion County retired teachers, Ohio Education Association. Marion County Humane Society, Marion County Historical Society. Mary enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively around the world.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at St Mary Church with Father Michael Nimocks officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St Mary's Cemetery.
