"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3: 5-6)
Emilie "Jane" Mickey, age 75, of Marion, and formerly of Chesterland, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, February 16, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital following an extended illness.
On March 6, 1936, Jane was born in Schellsburg, Pennsylvania, the first of four daughters of the late Alvin and Grace (Leppert) Mickey. She graduated from Windber High School in Pennsylvania, in the Class of 1955.
A devoted woman of faith, Jane had a deep and lifelong belief in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Upon moving to Marion in 2000, she became a member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church.
Due to her physical limitations, Jane was never able to have children, but she always loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
She will be missed by her three sisters: Janet Jarvie of Chesterland, Bonnie (Bob) Castel of Olmstead Falls, and Connie Powell of Prospect; two dear aunts (who where more like sisters): Lois Maze and Fran (Dick) Taylor, both of Chesterland; and thirty-six nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, Jane was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Bill Jarvie and Bill Powell.
Memorial services honoring Jane's life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone Alliance Church, 2010 Marion-Marysville Rd. (SR 4), Marion, with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.
Burial services will be observed privately by her family in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio.
Rather than flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Alliance Church Benevolence Fund in Jane's memory.
Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve Jane's family and your condolences may be expressed to them by visiting www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
