Helen (Scott) Waddle, 66, of Marion

Helen (Scott) Waddle, age 66, of Marion and formerly of Ironton, Ohio, passed away, after her battle with cancer, on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Mansfield.

Helen was born in Logan County, West Virginia, on December 3, 1945. She was the daughter of Everett and Zina (Dingess) Scott. The family moved to Ironton which became her home for many years.

Helen spent time working at Abbot’s Factory, Goodwill Industries and most recently for the Marion Star Newspaper.

Helen had the gift of a generous heart. She had a passion that burned for underprivileged children that needed love and a home. She was a mother to all and anyone who needed one. She was a giver and an inspiration and she will not be soon forgotten.

Helen is survived by her niece/adopted daughter, Rhonda Lynn (Scott) (T.J.) Price; her brother, the youngest of 12 whom she raised like a son, Anthony Ray Scott; her grandsons: Tommy III and James “Jet” Edward Price; Siblings: Connie (John Boggs) Smith, Marvin (Ruth) Scott, Delbert Scott and Randolph (Roxanne) Scott; Tommy Waddle, the father of her late daughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Teresa K. Waddle and siblings: Ersa Marie Bloomfield, Everett Scott, Jr., Paul Lee Scott, John Edward Scott, Rose D. Wisebaker and Vincent Edward Scott and her longtime companion James Collins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion, from 12Noon to 1PM; Memorial services will immediately follow at 1PM with Dr. Glen Wheeler officiating.
