Judith “Judy” Ann (Helms) Lower, 68, of Marion

Judith “Judy” Ann (Helms) Lower died at home, in Marion, on Saturday, February 18, 2012 following a thirteen month battle with stomach cancer.

On October 30, 1943 Judy was born in Marion County to Harrison Q. and Katherine S. (Huntsman) Helms.

Judy was preceded in death by one son, her parents, one brother, one sister, and several nephews and nieces.

Judy was a graduate of Marion Harding High School’s Class of 1961. Judy proudly served her country in The United States Marine Corp from 1965 to 1967.

On February 14, 1970, Judy married her husband, John C. Lower, at the Fairpark Baptist Church; who survives.  Judy retied from Whirlpool in 2004 after 35 years of dedicated employment. She was a member of the Harding Breakfast Club, and Bits and Pieces Quilt Club.

In addition to her husband John, of 42 years, Judy is survived by her children; Misty L. (Jeff) Gibson of Marion, Heather E. (Jeff Hardy) Smith of Morral, and Jonathan D. (Heather) Lower of Marion; grandchildren, Jeffery B. Gibson, Michael J. Gibson, Joshau A. Smith, Jason A. Gibson, Heidi M. Hardy, Amber N. Hardy, J. Mason Lower, Jayden S. Madden, and Cameron Lower; and great-grandchildren Jayden B. Gibson, Rylan Paz, and Kayden Paz.  Judy is also survived by her brothers; Franklin E. (Carol) Helms of Prospect, Harry D. Helms of Marion, Loren G. Helms of Marion, George (Genean) Helms of Illinois, and Charlie D. Helms of Illinois; sister Karen S. (Greg) Powell of Kansas; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Friends may call Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.  A Funeral Service will be held at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, at 6 PM with Rev. David Roush officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.
