Marjorie R. Vanderhoof, 87, of Delaware

Marjorie R. Vanderhoof, age 87, of Delaware, Ohio and Frostproof, Florida, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 in Florida.

Marjorie was born on March 22, 1924 in Galia County, Ohio. She was the daughter of I.E. and Margaret (Kelly) Miller. She was a graduate of Middleport High School.

On March 7, 1948, Marjorie was united in marriage to Carl Lee Vanderhoof in Middleport, Ohio.  She worked for the Waldo Elementary School as a secretary.

She also was a member of the Waldo United Methodist Church, the Waldo Town & Country Mothers Club, Waldo Town & Country Garden Club, Waldo Arts and Crafts Club and the Women’s Society at the church. Marjorie enjoyed spending her winters in Florida surrounded by many friends.

Marjorie is survived by her devoted children: Floyd E. (Joan) Vanderhoof of Waldo, Mark D. (Mary Beth) Vanderhoof of Caledonia and Margaret Gruber of Delaware; her loving grandchildren: Denise (Andy) Gruber Miller, Jill (Jason) Stover, Jessica (Brian) Troll, Jennifer (Matt) Bradley and Michael (Heather) Vanderhoof; great grandchildren: Colton and Hunter Miller, Logan, Payton and Jordan Bradley, Josiah and Jenson Stover and Corynn Troll.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carl L. Vanderhoof; her parents; brother: Harold Ward; foster siblings: Mont Miller, Doyle Miller, Dennis Miller, Iva Ward, Norma Lisle and Julia McComas.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Waldo United Methodist Church, 141 South Marion St., Waldo from 10 to 11AM; Memorial services will immediately follow at 11AM with Pastor Mary Sandburg officiating.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Waldo United Methodist Church.
