Donna R. Smith age 86 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday March 24, 2012 at Heartland of Marion.
She was born January 25, 1926 in Marion to the late Virgil I. and Frances L. (McGuire) Altenberger.
Donna was married twice; First to Roy E. Jacobs and he passed away in Marion in 1992, and then to Howard E. Smith, Jr., and he passed away in Marion in 1980.
Donna was as an accounting clerk with Marion General Hospital for twelve years as well as a homemaker.
Donna is survived by two daughters and two sons; Alma "Chris" Lingo of Marion, Deborah F. McClintock of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Steven E. (Sherry) Jacobs, and Jeffrey A. Jacobs both of Marion. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive as well as a sister, Helen M. Young of Marion.
Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother Robert W. Altenberger, and a son-in-law Mike Lingo.
There will be a Graveside Service and burial for Donna on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at the Chapel Heights Memory Gardens Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Pamela Lamb-Hart. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Saturday one hour prior to the graveside service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
