Denise Marie Knickel, age 55 of Prospect died Friday morning, April 13, 2012 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 20, 1956 in Marion to the late Richard Walter and Ruby Elizabeth (Simpkins) Knickel.
A 1975 graduate of Elgin high school, she worked as a nurse’s assistant at Grady Memorial Hospital. She had also worked at Elgin South Elementary. Denise loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Chad Knickel, his fiancée, Angie Houseworth and his children, Joy, Kyle and Zoey; three brothers, Daniel (Amy) Knickel, Bellefontaine; Dale (Tammy) Knickel, Bucyrus; Timothy Knickel, Marion; four sisters, Sue (Dutch Pfarr) Knickel, Prospect; Sharon (Bryan) Garverick, Mt Gilead; DeAnn (John) Ballentine, Gahanna; Linda (Jim) Laufer, Marion; a special cousin, Eloise (Sam) Bryan, Boone, North Carolina; and a special aunt, Karen "KK" Knickel of Calabash, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 16, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect with Pastor Steve Whitaker officiating. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service, beginning at 5:00 PM.
