Dwight Keith Bond passed away peacefully at home with his family. He began his journey to Heaven on April 13, 2012 at the age of 80.
Dwight was born in Ripley, West Virginia on February 3,1932.
He proudly served his country in the Korean War as a Medic in the U.S. Army.
Dwight was a devoted husband and father with an unwavering faith in the Lord serving as Deacon, Trustee and youth leader at the Green Camp Baptist Church. He was also very active in his community with Baseball for boys, Boy Scouts, Volunteer Fire Department, Lions Club and Town Council. Loving to be involved with all activities with his children, drove the band bus and always attending sports activities.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Coffey) Bond; his three children, Rick (Judy) Bond, Cheryl (Steve) Kandel, and Cindy (Randy) Tucker. Five grandchildren, Keith (Chris) Jordan, James (Robin) Bond, Corey (Lori) Tucker, Erica (Dale) Kozacek and Shauna (Kevin) Tucker. Eight great-grandchildren; Brandon and Mathew Jordan, Jarod and Riley Bond, Peyton Kozacek, Lyla and Elyza Tucker and Jameson Holland. Dwight was preceded in death by his mother Irma Woods, two brothers Benny and David, his first wife and mother of his children, Sadie (Brammer) Bond, and one granddaughter, Crystal Jordan.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Green Camp Baptist Church with Rev. David Lippert officiating. Burial will follow in Green Camp Cemetery.
