Harvey Claypool, Jr., age 59 of Marion, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012.
Harvey was born in Marion on March 2, 1953 to Harvey Sr. and Betty (Patterson) Claypool.
He was a graduate from Ridgedale High School in the class of 1972.
On January 2, 1981, He was united in marriage to Janice Gelbaugh in Marion. Together they have shared 31 years of marriage together. Harvey worked for Marion Steel as a steel laborer.
Harvey had a generous spirit and was always available with a helping hand. He enjoyed doing anything outside, whether it was fishing, yard work or anything else. If you needed to find him, you wouldn’t need to look any further than his garage. He took great pride in restoring his 1969 z-28 Camaro. He took his car to many car shows and brought back with him several medals. He was a member of the Flywheels Car Club and also was a member of the Marion Moose Lodge. Above all, Harvey was a family man and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Janice Claypool, his loving daughter Janelle (Dan) Kime; grandchildren: Braydon and Camden Kime; mother Betty Humphreys; and brothers: Harold (Brenda), Alvin (Debra) and Tommy Claypool.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30AM with Pastor Rodger Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Waldo Cemetery.
