Barbara Ann Powers, age 64, of Marion, died Sunday evening, April 29, 2012, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness.
Barbara was born in Delaware, OH, on April 28, 1948, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Donna M. (Ackerman) Warwick. She was a graduate of Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1966.
On May 31, 1968, Barbara married her loving husband, David A. Powers. They shared over 43 wonderful years together.
To Barbara, her family was her world. They did everything together, especially loving to travel to the lakes as a family. Barbara took great care of her family, handling all of the important day to day activities. She also enjoyed playing card games on her computer in her spare time. Barbara will always be remembered for her easy going, loving spirit.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her husband, David; her daughter, Heidi Lee Powers; her brother, Donald E. (Gina) Warwick, all of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her infant child, Dawn Rae, and a brother, Joseph E. Warwick Jr.
The Powers family will greet friends from 1 – 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services celebrating her life will be held there at 2:00 p.m. with Celebrant Don Lockwood officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
Rather than flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association, and they may be sent in care of the funeral home.
