Geraldine Kellogg, 82, of Marion

Geraldine Kellogg, age 82, of Marion, passed away late Friday evening surrounded by her loving family.

As she was taken home to be with Jesus, she reached the Gates of Heaven and was met there by her husband; Gerald, her grandson; Scott and her great-grandson; Lucas.

Born in Marion on November 4, 1929 to Gerald Cummins Dewitt and Adelaide Spicer Dewitt, she married Gerald LeRoy Kellogg on December 24, 1947 who preceded her in death on December 7, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a grandson; Scott L. Pierce, a great-grandson; Lucas Sharp and her brother; Bill Loop.

A homemaker and a woman of faith, Geraldine was a member of the Mt. Vernon Avenue Church of Christ and was a former hospice volunteer.

Surviving is her daughter; Cathy (LeRoy) Pierce of Marion, her son; Gary (Lisa) Kellogg of Prospect, her 2 sisters; Betty Rigby and Jackie (Ron) Bowers and her brother; Jim (Ruby) Loop, all of Marion, her 5 grandchildren; Heather (Brooke) Lower, Erin (Tim) Eckenrode, Aunalee Kellogg, Jessica (Phil) Schindewolf and Rachel (Wes) Sharp and her 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Tuesday from 11:00 AM until Noon at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Noon with Lyle Baker, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.

Geraldine’s family would like to offer a big thank you to Marion Manor and their staff for the wonderful care given to Geraldine.
