Helen M. Wood, 83 of Prospect, died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was a past President with American Legion Auxiliary, a member for 38 years. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Prospect, Lefemme, 40/8, Pithian Sisters, Mother’s Club and former member of Mt. Carmel Chapter 42 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, baking and bird watching.
She is mother of two sons, Philip (Linda) VanBuskirk of Medford, Oregon; Dennis (LaDonna) Kuba of Charlotte, Michigan; two daughters, Helen (VanBuskirk) (Don) Kramer of Edgewater, Florida; Lisa Wood of Radnor; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She raised three foster daughters. Also surviving are two sisters, Thelma Messenger of Grove City and Maybelle Cruzan, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother. A celebration of Life took placing during her living years. There will be no service per her wishes. Donations can be made to Pearle May Redmon Oncology Endowment, Ohio Health Foundation, 180 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
