Robert Dale Emptage, 90, of Marion

Robert Dale Emptage age 90 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Saturday May 5, 2012 at his residence.

He was born August 4, 1921 in LaRue, Ohio to the late Marion and Rhea (Lamb) Emptage.

On March 16, 1947 in Union, Co., he married Inez Price and she still survives.

Robert was retired as a steel worker after twenty-five years with Armco Steel. He was also a W.W.II U.S. Army Veteran. Robert was an avid camper and fisherman, and enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

Besides his wife of sixty-five years, he is survived by three sons; Bruce (Rita) Emptage of LaRue, Ohio, Brad Emptage of Marion, Ohio, and Bret (Carol) Emptage of Prospect, Ohio. Also, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Stacy Hinchley, Kelly, Bryan, Amber, Ryan, and Caitlyn Emptage, and Brianna Hinchley, E'Liana Emptage-Faggs, and Kaidence Emptage. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Robert was also preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Ulery and two brothers; Jim and Marion.

Funeral Services for Robert will be Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Brooke Hilliard. Burial will follow in the Price Cemetery with Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday May 8, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M.
