On the morning of June 28, 2012, our Lord opened his arms and welcomed Mary Catherine Smith into Heaven. Mary was born on April 27, 1924, in Toledo, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Ray & Ruth (Martin) Vanderhoff. Mary was a devoted Cincinnati Reds fan. She had been employed at Anthony's Laundry and also Jim Dugans in Marion.
Mary is survived by her five children, Patricia Rush, Barbara (George) Rhodes-Murray, Roger (Pam) Smith, John (Barb) Smith, and Mark Smith, all of Marion. Eight Grand children, Jason Midlam, Jay Smith, Joshua Smith, David Smith, Danny Smith and Kathy Magg, Bo Smith and Blair Rowland and eleven great-grand Children. She is also survived by her loving brother, John (Carol) Vanderhoff. She is preceded in death by her sister, Sister Ruth Vanderhoff. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass for Mary will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012, at St Mary Church with Father Michael Nimocks officiating. Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.
